Wulpdal family park

On the banks of Oosterschelde National Park and a stone’s throw from the picturesque village of Sint-Maartensdijk lies the luxurious family park Wulpdal. A place where peace, space and privacy reign supreme. The entire park is surrounded by wide views, unspoilt nature and beautiful cycling and walking paths. The beach is just a stone’s throw away. Nearby, there is also a slipway where you can launch your boat with trailer. Although the holiday homes are fully equipped, the lure of nature amply drowns out WIFI and television. The animation team here is represented by seals, porpoises, starfish, crabs as well as bottlenose dolphins and seahorses. But don’t forget the seagulls, egrets, oystercatchers, red-tailed godwits and, of course, curlews. Children have all the space they need to romp around and there will also be a wonderful playground on the site. Children’s favourites: catching crabs and looking for shells. But of course, the beach in Scherpenisse Bay is also a great place for a summer swim. And very importantly, the low dam also gives parents a bit of peace and quiet as children cannot drift away into the Oosterschelde here. Well done by the municipality of Tholen!

Almost energy-neutral!

This modern, detached holiday home boasts many comforts. Above all, it is built almost energy-neutral, which is a nice feeling for many people. On holiday, we may think even more about being careful with our planet. You will find a heat pump and underfloor heating in the house and solar panels on the roof. We have also worked with A-quality built-in appliances that meet the latest energy-saving requirements.

The layout of your holiday villa (with infrared sauna!)

The accommodation has a nice garden and modern furnishings. Ground floor: hall, open kitchen (cooker (with 4 hotplates, electric), cooker, cooker hood, coffee machine, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer), living/dining room (TV, dining table, seating area), bedroom with bathroom (double bed, shower, washbasin, toilet), bedroom with bathroom (double bed, shower, washbasin). On 1st floor: bedroom (double bed or 2 x single beds), bedroom (double bed or 2 x single beds), bathroom (shower, washbasin).

There is also parking for two cars at the holiday home. Enjoy the comfortable lounge set on the terrace and prepare your favourite meals on the barbecue or in the well-equipped kitchen. The house is ideal for holidays with family and friends. Extra: baby cots, high chair, changing mat, 2nd TV in the downstairs bedroom, washing machine, infrared sauna and 2 pets allowed.

Oosterschelde National Park

The Oosterschelde National Park is openly connected to the North Sea via the storm surge barrier. Twice a day, 800 billion litres of salt water flow in and out of the area. The mudflats and sandflats that are under water at high tide fall dry again at low tide. The Oosterschelde is a unique area because of this tidal nature. Next to the pier at De Zeester lighthouse are tide boxes. When it is low tide, you can take a look there to see what the tide has left behind. Birds also do this on the sandbanks and scavenge for their meal. So the Eastern Scheldt is a home, a nursery and a roadhouse all in one. In addition, the Eastern Scheldt has a fascinating underwater world. Think, for instance, of Deadman’s Thumb, the only Dutch coral. On the other side of the dike, next to the Wulpdal, is a diving hotspot. A diving school and compressed air facilities make every diver feel welcome here.

What to do and where to eat on the island of Tholen?

Winding polder roads take you to the most surprising places. On Exclusief Zeeland you can select per island to see what all there is to do. Take a seal safari from Sint Annaland or cross over with the foot & cycle ferry to Yerseke, but the Roosevelt Museum/restaurant is also more than worth a visit, a place with a special story! Tholen is an up-and-coming island and perhaps the least known, but is fast catching up. Possibly soon to be the hippest island in Zeeland! Its ideal location makes it a great island to explore Zeeland from. For instance, consider renting a boat at the Grevelingen lake. We can also recommend the city walk in Zierikzee and, if possible, drive straight to the Plompe Toren (tip: pit stop at De Heerenkeet). But on the island of Tholen, too, you can eat delicious food and there is plenty to choose from, the best places we have listed for you on Exclusief Zeeland. Above all, Restaurant De Zeester comes highly recommended. A modern restaurant with a terrace offering stunning views and, not unimportantly, only a short walk from your holiday home.
