Family Park Wulpdal
On the shores of the Oosterschelde National Park and just a stone’s throw from the picturesque village of Sint-Maartensdijk lies the luxurious family park Wulpdal. A place where peace, space and privacy reign supreme. The entire park is surrounded by wide views, unspoilt nature and beautiful cycling and walking paths. The beach is only a stone’s throw away. There is also a slipway nearby where you can launch your boat with trailer. The holiday homes are fully equipped, but the lure of nature far drowns out WIFI and TV. The animation team is here with seals, porpoises, starfish, crabs as well as bottlenose dolphins and seahorses. Not to forget the seagulls, herons, oystercatchers, godwits and of course the curlews. Children have plenty of room to run around, and there is also a nice playground on the grounds. The children’s favourite pastimes: catching crabs and looking for shells. But of course the beach in Scherpenisse Bay is also a great place for a summer swim. And very important: the low dam also gives parents a bit of peace and quiet, because here the children can’t drift off into the Oosterschelde. Well done by the municipality of Tholen!
Almost energy neutral!
This modern, detached holiday home has many amenities. Above all, it is built to be almost energy neutral, which is a nice feeling for many people. When you’re on holiday, you might think even more about how you treat our planet. You will find a heat pump and underfloor heating in the house, solar panels on the roof and a charging station at the entrance. In addition, A-quality built-in appliances have been used that meet the latest energy-saving requirements.
The floor plan of your holiday villa (with sauna!)
The accommodation has a beautiful garden and is furnished in a modern style. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and the living room is equipped with a TV, a dining table and a cosy sitting area. There is also a parking space for three cars at the holiday home. Enjoy your free time on the terrace under the veranda and prepare your favourite dishes on the barbecue or in the well-equipped kitchen. Thanks to the heat lamps, it is also easy to spend the evenings on the outdoor terrace. The house is ideal for a holiday with family and friends. Extra: washing machine, terrace heating, whirlpool and sauna.
Oosterschelde National Park
The Oosterschelde National Park is openly connected to the North Sea via the storm surge barrier. Twice a day, 800 billion litres of salt water flow in and out of the area. The mudflats and sandflats that are under water at high tide fall dry again at low tide. The Oosterschelde is a unique area because of this tidal nature. Next to the pier at De Zeester lighthouse are tide boxes. When it is low tide you can take a look there to see what the tide has left behind. Birds also do this on the sandbanks and scavenge for their meal. So the Eastern Scheldt is a home, a nursery and a roadhouse all in one. In addition, the Eastern Scheldt has a fascinating underwater world. Think, for instance, of Deadman’s Thumb, the only Dutch coral. On the other side of the dike, next to the Wulpdal, is a diving hotspot. A diving school and compressed air facilities make every diver feel welcome here.
What can you do on the island of Tholen and where can you eat?
Winding polder roads take you to the most surprising places. On Exclusief Zeeland you can select by island to see what there is to experience. Take a seal safari from Sint Annaland or cross over to Yerseke by foot and bicycle ferry, but the Roosevelt Museum/Restaurant is also worth a visit, a place with a special history! Tholen is an up-and-coming island and perhaps the least known, but it is catching up fast. It may soon be the hippest island in Zeeland! Its ideal location makes it a great island to explore Zeeland. For example, rent a boat on Lake Grevelingen. Also recommended is the city walk in Zierikzee and if possible, drive directly to the Plompe Toren (tip: pit stop in De Heerenkeet). But you can also eat delicious food on the island of Tholen and there is a wide choice, we have listed the best places for you on Exclusief Zeeland. Restaurant De Zeester in particular is highly recommended. A modern restaurant with a terrace from which you have a magnificent view, not to mention only a short walk from your holiday home.
