Set off with a guide to discover why Tholen is so special. With its origins dating back to the 13th century, Tholen can justifiably be called a historic town.

The name Tholen is due to the toll that used to be levied there. There are various places of interest, such as the historic shipyard, the cross basilica and the still fully intact star-shaped fortress that was once built to keep invaders out of the town. Today, it rather serves to invite people to enjoy the green ramparts on a beautiful walk. The walk takes 1.5 hours and can take place every day provided that a guide is available. You pay €50 per group (minimum 4 and maximum 20 people). The tour can be given in Dutch, English, French or German.
