Prison Gravensteen in Zierikzee
In the Middle Ages, Schouwen-Duiveland was the Alcatraz of the Low Countries and Zierikzee was one of the most important port cities. Gravensteen served as a prison for 400 years and you can enter Zierikzee’s best-kept secret by appointment. You will get the creeps when you see the drawings and texts of the prisoners. For (horror) stories about this special place, read our blog https://exclusiefzeeland.nl/blog/gravensteen/. Tours are given on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 14:30 and 15:30. Reservations can be made at info@stadhuismuseum.nl or call 0111-454464. For more information, visit www.stadhuismuseum.nl/rondleiding-gravensteen2/ Price indication: €4.50 per adult.
